What We Do  

Fear is the biggest obstacle to change management because people worry about what it will mean for them. As humans, we fear the ‘unknown’. Even when the ‘known’ isn’t working for us, there is a sense of comfort in the familiar. We will never remove fear completely, because it is a permanent challenge of life, but we can do so much to help people to transcend it and overcome the resistance to change, which fear creates.

Fear comes from a feeling of ‘separation’ and a sense of ‘self-survival’. Many a power struggle and obstruction emerges from this level of thought. We have to foster an environment which reduces the reason to fear, by having open, honest and informal communication. We have to ensure that people feel a part of what we are doing, that they are clear about their role and that we inspire them to give their best.

Our very first task when commencing on any project, is to establish the above and to create a foundation of trust, which we never compromise. Then we can begin the work of making the change together. The most effective way of managing change, is when you bring people along ‘with you’.
